3668 Rides T-Shirt Co. is based in Steamboat Springs, CO. While they've had success on their home turf, they are finding themselves limited in their market reach. Clearly they need a web presence to reach a wider audience.
The process behind developing 3668's website takes one part market research, one part information architecture, and many parts design iteration of the final user interface. The image to the right is a representation of where the design currently stands. One step closer to the end result.
Creating prototypes for the site is a crucial part of development. If we just jumped in and began coding the site before we knew the information architecture or had done thorough market research, we'd be wasting precious time and ultimately end up with a final design that does not speak to the end user. .
These are wireframes. Wireframing is a crucial part of the design process. Building wireframes allows us to find out what works and what elements of the site we need, where they go, and how they interact with one another before we get deep into development. Ultimately, wireframing plays a key role in developing a clean, crisp, elegant and usable design.
The layout has been finalized and the design is solid. Now the coding begins. The site will be under construction and go through further user testing before it is launched. Stay tuned ...
